The Science Lab Project

The Prince of Wales School Lab Refurbishment and Supply Project will be a comprehensive attempt to change the effectiveness of science teaching, through providing competitive environment for laboratory instruction.

The project will be a joint undertaking of the Prince of Wales School and all the Old Princewalean and Prince of Wales Alumni Associations in Freetown, North America and Europe.

The project will cover three areas:

1. Building Infrastructure: Includes the physical lab building’s and laboratory rooms; furniture and security in the form of doors windows etc.

2. Water supply: Water supply is absent or unreliable in most of the labs, yet is an integral part of a functioning lab especially for Chemistry and Biology.

3. Lab supplies: These include laboratory glassware, chemicals, instruction kits and other practical teaching aids. Execution:

Each year since 1999, the National Organization of Sierra Leoneans in North America (NOSLINA) recognizes individuals or organizations for exemplary contributions to Sierra Leoneans in North America and in Sierra Leone. This year, the Global Alumni of the Prince of Wales School received the Community Leadership Award for superior leadership and commitment to provide world class education to the next generation of Sierra Leoneans, to compete both in the global workplace and contribute to the development of Sierra Leone.
